Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the new additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for July 2026. The update, available to Extra and Premium subscribers, introduces a diverse selection of AAA titles, indie gems, and classics with staggered release dates throughout the month.
Headliners: Soulslike Action and Open World Exploration
The standout addition is Rise of the Ronin, a Soulslike developed by Team Ninja. Set during the final years of the Edo period and the Boshin War, the game allows players to shape the narrative by aligning with different political factions. The experience is enhanced by a grappling hook and glider, offering more verticality than typical Soulslike titles.
Another major addition is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the first-person action adventure arriving on PS5 starting July 21.
Release Schedule and Additional Titles
According to Polygon, the rollout is scheduled as follows:
- July 15: Rise of the Ronin (PS5)
- July 21: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS5), Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS5) and, exclusively for Premium members, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy (PS4/PS5).
- July 28: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind (PS4/PS5), Dying Light (PS4), Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5) and Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5).
For Essential subscribers, the monthly games for July include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Catalog Rotation and Departures
The expansion is balanced by the monthly rotation of titles. As noted by TechTimes and GamerMarkt, 12 games will leave the service on July 21, including Risk of Rain 2 and Tropico 6. This cycle reinforces Sony's strategy to maintain a dynamic library for its higher-tier subscriptions.
